Shot in the head and killed by another young man who thought his gun was unloaded. As he left to walk home his friend said, "Let me shoot you before you go" and did just that. There was a trial and the young man was found not guilty. I believe his name was Oliver Huntsinger. I am not certain but believe he or his family must have paid for Oliver Lynch's marker because the family was very poor at that time and could not afford one for his brother Arthur who died in Tucapau Mill Pond a decade later.
