Landrum, SC - Mrs. Mary Pace Arledge of Landrum, SC died early Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1937 in Spartanburg General Hospital following an lenghty illness. Daughter of Thomas E. and Elizabeth Newman Pace and a teacher in the North and South Carolina School Systems for 30 years. Services were held at at the Landrum Baptist Church at 3 o'clock Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1937 with interment in the Columbus Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors included: her mother, two daughters, Mrs. Hanford Waterfield and Mrs. Alfred G. M. Hartmann, both of New York City, NY; five brothers, Lewis, Clayton, James, John and DeWitt Pace; six sisters, Mrs. J.H. Jones, Mrs. Herbert E. Pace, Mrs. David E. Morrison, Miss Estelle Pace, Mrs. Walter Hooper and Mrs. B. H. Hill. She was 52 years of age at her demise. (Original obituary was rewritten to conform to Findagrave Rules by Record Hunter.)
